The Worship Committee plans services, including Sunday service and special services (Christmas, Easter, Maundy Thursday, Ash Wednesday, etc.). This committee focuses on adapting worship as needed to include the ideas of the congregation.
The Mission Committee focuses on the missions for the church. These missions may be at home (in Schenectady) or across the globe. Some missions we support include our pantry, Camp Fowler, a craft ministry, and Bread for the World.
The Property Committee is tasked with taking care of our building and grounds. This committee is composed of volunteers who help with routine maintenance and clean up, including mowing, shoveling snow, sweeping, raking, changing lightbulbs, painting, and basic repairs.
The Well Committee manages the building owned by BRC that contains Jacob's Well (the small café), Ruth's Place (a thrift store), and the 4 apartments in the building.
The Fellowship Committee is dedicated to the social health of our congregation. This committee plans and facilitates various events throughout the year, such as the church picnic, the Adult Retreat, and the annual ice cream social.
The Christian Education committee is charged with building a Sunday School curriculum each year for our church's youth. Sunday School is offered September through May each year during Sunday morning service.
The Prayer Team is a group of individuals who are committed to praying regularly for BRC and the BRC church family. This team meets monthly to discuss concerns that need prayer, and offer prayer after Sunday Service each week. They are also available for prayer throughout the week.
The Consistory governs the life and ministry of a congregation, and is made up of three offices - Minister, Elders, and Deacons. Together, the Consistory talks and prays about BRC, and makes decisions about our church life.
