Jesus calls us to serve. Whether it's global missions, or right in our backyard, we know that part of being the light of God's kingdom is spreading that light to our neighbors. Check out some of our outreach ministries below.
Jacob's Well is our neighborhood café in the Bellevue neighborhood of Schenectady, NY. During open hours we offer a lost-cost Special, hot coffee, free pastries, and company.
"So in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others." - Romans 12:5
Little Free Food Pantry
Our neighborhood pantry operates on a simple motto - "take what you need, give what you can; everything is a blessing." Each day our church, and community members, fill our pantry with nonperishable food items and hygiene products for our neighbors.
"For I was hungry and you gave me good, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me." - Matthew 25:35
Ruth's Place is our local thrift store in the Bellevue neighborhood of Schenectady, NY. We offer low-priced, gently-used clothing for women, men, children and babies. Also smaller housewares and seasonal décor.
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." - John 13:34
Our craft ministry meets twice a month to work on a number of projects - from blankets for animals at the shelter to hats and scarves for the children in our neighborhood, we do a little of everything!
"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms." - 1 Peter 4:10
Kids Hope USA
Kid's Hope USA is a mentoring program where church members mentor one child in a local elementary school, meeting with the child weekly. Mentors and students talk together, read books, work on academics, play games, and create crafts.
